FTA Trade Conference 2016: EU-China Partnership - recommended by ACBA

Organiser:  FTA Foreign Trade Assoication
Date: 20th April 2016
Place:

Brussels

The Foreign Trade Association is delighted to open registrations for its Trade Conference 2016 on 20 April in Brussels. This conference entitled "EU-China Partnership: Is the Time Right for an Ambitious Free Trade Agreement" will explore the economic and business relations between the EU and China. What needs to be done to translate the tremendous importance of bilateral trade into stronger cooperation and a higher level of optimism?

Following a research study commissioned by FTA and conducted by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), we will explore the possibilities and benefits of a potential free trade agreement and present the results of the innovative study.

With almost 40 years' experience, FTA unites over 1,700 retailers, importers and brands as the leading business association of European and international commerce that promotes the value of free and sustainable trade. China is a key sourcing for our member companies and provides rich opportunities for their continued business relations.

The EU and China are both under the economic obligation to consolidate their ties, especially with regard to rising economic challenges at home and the weak global economy. Following the success of the Trade Conference 2015, FTA is delighted to welcome Ferry den Hoed, FTA President and Director at Euretco, Frank Dassler, General Counsel at Adidas alongside Professor Jacques Pelkmans, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) to further explore the ongoing talks for an investment agreement, seen as a crucial step into this direction
